Welcome to the club, the one no one wants to be a part of.

We are so often forced to think about our physical health, but so easily can stuff our mental health on a shelf and forget about it. Life is busy and we often must prioritize the necessities like keeping the kids or pets alive, supporting our partners, going to work or school, and completing our never-ending to-do lists. These things don’t always leave room for us to take care of ourselves, but the thing about mental health is we can put it on the shelf, UNTIL WE CAN’T.

One random day life just comes along and knocks us on our faces and when we do a quick check in the mirror, we find that we don’t even recognize ourselves anymore. Suddenly, we are short-tempered with the people in our lives, we haven’t showered in three days, we lost or gained twenty pounds, and we can’t remember the last time we ate. The hopes and dreams we had for ourselves are too far gone, we can’t remember the last time we laughed, and our bodies no longer feel like we have control over them.

It feels hopeless, and we are wondering what’s even the point?

If this sounds like you, I want to welcome you to the club that no one wants to be in. You’re one of 1.3 million people in the state of Michigan who are struggling with existing in this HARD freaking world. Yup, you read that right, 1.3 million people – that’s about 1 in every 6 Michigan resident and unfortunately a whopping 38% of these guys go without help.

I don’t want YOU to be one of them, so I want to do what it takes to make sure that you don’t fall into this 38%. I know what it’s like to be the 1 in 6, and I want you to know that you have a space here at Willow Birch to take your mental health off the shelf. As a clinician who has also struggled with mental health, I know how hard it is to take the first step, so I want to make the process of getting started easy for you.

I’m on your team, and I want to help however I can!
